On board the hydroplane seamax, turned into aerial laboratory, the pilot / scientist Gérard Moss is traveling through Brazil in an unprecedented attempt to “map up” the quality of water in the main rivers, lakes and hydrological reservoirs of the country (till here it appears on the home page). The project has started in September 2003 and is scheduled to end in the month of September, 2004. Margi Moss will coordinate the logistics part along with the ground support team and will also accompany the group as the official “campaign” photographer.

The project’s keywords are scientific research and citizenry. Sponsored by Brazilian teaching and research institutions and other environment - conscious groups the expedition will cover a distance of 100.000 kilometer –  62.140 miles visiting all hydrographical regions responsible for Brazil’s water supply.

Based on the results of the analyses and supported by aerial photographs of each sample region a map shall be drawn up featuring the actual “health” situation of fresh waters already identified which never suffered pollution so that they can be conserved. For the first time in the country the same method is being used to create future reference, and it is aimed at “cataloguing” one of the greatest treasures of mankind: water.
